‎The Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) has launched strict enforcement of pedestrian bridge usage at Uga Junction to reduce fatalities on the busy highway.
‎
‎ARTMA Commander, Abuchi Nwakaebeyia said the agency’s priority is to ensure pedestrians use the bridge rather than crossing the road, noting that negligence has led to many deaths. “Anyone who refuses to use the bridge will be apprehended and taken to our office. If the offence is repeated, the offender risks a three‑month jail term,” he warned.
‎
‎Commander Nwakaebeyia also commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for efforts to make Anambra State safer and improve conditions for residents.
‎

‎Also speaking, the team leader, Mr. Kenechukwu Okonkwo, reiterated ARTMA’s commitment to enforcing traffic rules and preventing further accidents. “There have been too many accidents at this junction. ARTMA is here to put a stop to road accidents and ensure people’s lives are safe,” he said.
‎
‎The agency urged pedestrians to cooperate with the enforcement to help reduce road injuries and fatalities at Uga Junction.
