The Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke, and Francis Cardinal Arinze on Aug. 22 have inspected ongoing construction works at the permanent site of Shanahan University, Onitsha.
The inspection provided an opportunity to assess the progress of the project and appreciate the development recorded so far.
During the visit, Cardinal Arinze offered prayers for the successful completion of the project, seeking God’s guidance and protection for the engineers, architects, experts and other professionals working on the site.

He also prayed for the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, which is undertaking the project, as well as the benefactors and donors whose contributions have supported the establishment and development of the university.
Arinze further prayed for the future students and staff of the institution, asking God to grant the university the grace to make a positive and lasting impact on the Church, society and humanity.

The inspection underscored the significance of Shanahan University as an educational initiative of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha and reflected the Church’s commitment to providing quality education and contributing to the formation of future generations.
The progress recorded at the permanent site is expected to strengthen efforts toward the completion and realisation of the university’s vision as a centre of learning, formation and service.
