Support for Dr. Alex Obiogbolu is growing within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as stakeholders rally behind his bid for the Anambra North Senatorial ticket, citing his loyalty, consistency, and commitment to the party’s core ideals.
The development follows remarks by APGA National Leader and Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, at the Southeast Zonal Stakeholders Meeting. Soludo called for renewed party discipline and an end to opportunistic politics, stating that APGA is returning to its founding principles of loyalty, accountability, and genuine public service. He warned against politicians who use the party as a stepping stone for personal gain.
Political analysts say the governor’s position has strengthened Obiogbolu’s standing among party members in Anambra North. Unlike contenders linked to shifting alliances, Obiogbolu is recognized for remaining steadfast with APGA through both challenges and successes a trait supporters describe as embodying the Igbo ethos of “onye agha na nwanne ya”, standing firmly with one’s own in all circumstances.
Party stakeholders view the upcoming primary as a chance for APGA to reward faithful service and uphold credible, experienced leadership. As consultations continue, Obiogbolu’s grassroots engagement and unblemished track record are seen as key advantages in securing the ticket.
