The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sly Ezeokenwa, has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki on the death of its Bishop, Most Rev. Peter Nworie Chukwu.
In a statement issued on behalf of the party, Ezeokenwa expressed profound sorrow over the demise of the cleric, who passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the age of 60.
He described the late Bishop as a devoted servant of God whose life was distinguished by steadfast commitment to spiritual leadership, moral guidance, and service to humanity.
The National Chairman also commended Bishop Chukwu’s advocacy for justice, unity, and peace, affirming that his contributions to the advancement of the Church and society would remain indelible.
The late Bishop’s death has continued to elicit tributes from religious, political, and community leaders nationwide, reflecting the extensive impact of his life and ministry.
