The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Sly Ezeokenwa has urged Nigerian youths to actively and responsibly participate in the nation’s democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ezeokenwa made the call on Aug. 12 in a message commemorating the 2026 International Youth Day, in which he congratulated Nigerian youths and described their energy, creativity, resilience and determination as critical to the country’s development.

He urged young Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs), seek credible information and make informed choices ahead of the 2027 elections.

The APGA chairman also cautioned youths against electoral violence, hate speech and the spread of misinformation, stressing that responsible participation was essential to building the Nigeria they desired.

“As National Chairman of APGA, I remain deeply committed to giving young people a stronger voice and greater space in our political process,” he said.

Ezeokenwa said his experience as a young person had given him a better understanding of the aspirations and challenges confronting Nigerian youths.

He stressed that young people should not merely be heard but should actively participate in the conversations and decisions shaping the future of the country.

According to him, APGA remains committed to promoting meaningful youth participation, leadership and active engagement in politics, while encouraging young Nigerians to contribute their ideas, talents and energy to national development.

He urged youths to remain patriotic, peaceful and purposeful, emphasising that responsible citizenship was crucial as the country moved toward another general election.

Ezeokenwa wished Nigerian youths a happy International Youth Day, expressing optimism that the younger generation would demonstrate the courage, conviction and determination required to contribute meaningfully to shaping Nigeria’s future.
