Anambra State is set to host the National Products Expo 2026, also known as the Anambra Christmas Fair/Made-in-Nigeria Expo 2026, from December 2 to 5, at FUN City, Awka, with the State Government positioning the event as a major platform for promoting local products, businesses and investment opportunities. The expo is expected to bring together manufacturers, producers, entrepreneurs, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), investors and consumers, providing businesses with opportunities to showcase their products, access new markets, attract investment and expand their reach within and beyond Nigeria.
The development was disclosed during a strategic meeting between the National Coordinator and Executive Director of the National Brand Development and Made-in-Nigeria Project Office, Abuja, Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George, and the Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, alongside the State Commissioner for Commerce and Economic Development, at the Light House, Awka.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. George said the National Products Fair was established pursuant to Executive Orders One and Two of 2017 and is domiciled as a special project under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. He explained that the initiative was designed to promote Nigerian products and services, encourage the consumption of locally made goods and strengthen national pride through the “Made in Nigeria, 0 Imports” campaign.
According to him, the first leg of the 2026 National Products Fair would take place in Abia State from September 21 to 27, while Anambra would host the second leg from December 2 to 5. Hon. George commended the Anambra State Government for its commitment to promoting locally made products and for commencing preparations towards hosting the event. He said the national fair was designed to provide Nigerian businesses with a platform to demonstrate their capabilities, attract investment and establish connections with wider markets.
Responding, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, said Anambra was prepared to use the expo to showcase the creativity, enterprise and productive capacity of its people. She described Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as a strong advocate of locally made products and a champion of the “Made in Anambra” agenda. Nnake explained that the decision to hold the Anambra edition during the festive season was strategic, as commercial activities and consumer interest are expected to peak during the period.
She said the Christmas Fair would not only showcase products but also attract shoppers, visitors and investors to the State, giving them an opportunity to experience Anambra’s hospitality and explore its growing economic and investment opportunities. The SSG added that Anambra would use the national platform to highlight its strengths in manufacturing, entrepreneurship, innovation and creative enterprise, urging producers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and SMEs across the State to participate actively.
Also speaking, the Anambra State Commissioner for Commerce and Economic Development described the expo as a significant opportunity for businesses to expand their market reach.
The commissioner said the event would enable manufacturers and SMEs to display their products, connect with prospective customers, explore new markets and promote the quality and innovation associated with goods produced in Anambra.
He stressed that although the expo has a national outlook, Anambra was determined to make its edition a distinctive celebration of enterprise, commerce and locally produced goods. The commissioner therefore urged producers, manufacturers and SMEs across the State to take advantage of the expo, noting that their participation would create opportunities for business growth, networking, investment and wider market visibility.
The National Products Expo 2026/Anambra Christmas Fair/Made-in-Nigeria Expo is expected to position Anambra as a major destination for locally made products and commercial opportunities while providing a broader platform for Nigerian businesses to showcase their capacity and contribute to economic development.
