The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) House of Assembly aspirant for Onitsha North Constituency II, Unachukwu Ikenna, has successfully concluded his ward tour, drawing widespread support from party faithful and residents across the constituency.
The tour, which ended on March 23, 2026, at Ward 11, was marked by a vibrant turnout of stakeholders, party members, and community residents who gathered to welcome the aspirant.
Speaking to newsmen at the event, Dr. Ikenna expressed gratitude for the warm reception he received throughout the wards, noting that the engagement had strengthened his resolve to serve the people.
“This tour has given me the opportunity to listen directly to the needs of our people. What I have seen is a strong desire for effective representation, youth empowerment, and improved educational opportunities. I am fully committed to delivering leadership that is transparent, inclusive, and focused on real development,” he said.
The event also witnessed the presence of Ikemefuna Nzekwu, popularly known as Akwara, the APGA Deputy Chairman for Onitsha North Local Government Area, whose attendance underscored party unity and support for the aspirant’s grassroots engagement.
In his remarks, Nzekwu commended the peaceful and successful conduct of the tour, emphasizing the importance of unity within the party.
“What we are seeing today is a reflection of the strength of our party at the grassroots. The turnout and enthusiasm show that our people are ready to support credible leadership that understands their needs,” he noted.
Throughout the ward tour, Dr. Ikenna outlined his development agenda, focusing on youth empowerment initiatives, promotion of academic excellence, economic growth, and sustainable community development. He assured constituents that his administration, if elected, would prioritize accountability and people-oriented policies.
Residents who spoke with journalists expressed optimism about his candidacy, citing his accessibility and clarity of vision as key qualities that distinguish him.
