The Acting Director of the Agency for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education (ANFFE), Mrs. Lilian Ezenwaka, on 22 July, monitored the Post Literacy Adult and Non-Formal Certificate Examination (PLAANCE) across Anambra State’s twenty-one Local Government Areas.
The monitoring exercise underscored Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s unwavering commitment to inclusive, accessible and quality education, ensuring adult learners enjoy equal opportunities through free literacy and non-formal education programmes statewide.
The ANFFE monitoring team was warmly received at St. Faith Adult Learning Centre by the Unit Head, Mrs. Okwukweka Nmuonaeke, alongside Mrs. Ogochukwu Nnatu, who welcomed the delegation and candidates enthusiastically.

Addressing candidates, Mrs. Ezenwaka stated that the Soludo administration has prioritized adult and non-formal education as an essential pillar of human capital development, empowering citizens through lifelong learning opportunities statewide.
She encouraged learners to pursue higher educational qualifications beyond obtaining the PLAANCE Certificate, stressing that continuous learning enhances relevance, productivity and opportunities while ANFFE provides free skills acquisition programmes.
The Mayor of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Barrister C.C. Ozonba, who sponsored fifty candidates, commended Governor Soludo’s free education policy, encouraged participants to excel and wished them outstanding examination success.
Mrs. Ezenwaka appreciated the learners for embracing adult education and urged them to sensitize residents within their communities, encouraging greater enrolment during subsequent admission sessions across the state successfully.
She reaffirmed that education remains free under Governor Soludo’s administration, adding that, with support from Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ekene Oguguo, ANFFE will continue providing essential learning materials statewide.
The Acting Director reiterated government’s determination to expand adult education through digital transformation, ensuring every willing learner acquires knowledge, vocational skills and certificates necessary for personal growth and sustainable development.
