The Anambra State Ministry of Transport has extended the enforcement deadline for mandatory Riders’ Permits to September 30, for all motorcycle and tricycle riders statewide.
This extension followed stakeholder engagement and appeals for more time to allow riders to obtain permits and comply with state transport regulations.
The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Ibuzo, announced the extension in a Public Service Announcement dated August 27 and issued to all relevant stakeholders.
The Ministry urged all riders to use this period to obtain their permits before enforcement begins across Anambra State as scheduled.
“Permits can be obtained at the VIO Computerized Inspection Centre beside ROBAN Stores, Awka, and the Vehicle Inspection Services Office, Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
“Other centres include the VIS Office at Stock Exchange, GRA, Onitsha, and the VIS Office at Onitsha South LGA Secretariat, Onitsha. Additional locations are the VIS Office at Nnewi North LGA Secretariat, Nnewi, and the VIS Office at Aguata LGA Secretariat, Aguata.
“Riders may also apply online via the Ministry’s portal: http://www.mot.services.an.gov.ng for a convenient alternative before the deadline expires”, commissioner said
Enforcement by VIO officers and the Compliance and Enforcement Team will commence October 2, . Riders are advised to secure permits promptly.
