Anambra State Commissioner for Transport Hon. Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo has called on Nigerians to uphold peace, unity, and responsible citizenship as the nation marks Democracy Day.
In a statement issued June 12, 2026, Ibuzo described June 12 as a historic symbol of the resilience, courage, and collective will of Nigerians in the pursuit of freedom, justice, and democratic governance.
“Democracy Day reminds us that sustainable development depends on active citizen participation and commitment to accountability, national unity, and progress,” he said.
The commissioner commended Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, for gains in transportation, infrastructure, security, and economic development, noting that the achievements reflect the dividends of democracy and the collective commitment of Anambra residents.
Ibuzo reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to building a safer, more efficient, and modern transportation system to improve mobility, stimulate economic growth, and enhance quality of life across the state.
He urged Ndi Anambra and all Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and patriotism while supporting efforts to strengthen democratic institutions.
“Together, we can build a nation where opportunities abound for every citizen and where democratic values continue to flourish,” he said.
Ibuzo expressed optimism that Democracy Day would renew hope, deepen commitment to nation-building, and inspire greater efforts toward the development of Anambra State and the country at large.
