Anambra State will commemorate International Museum Day on May 18 with a cultural showcase aimed at promoting cultural exchange, preserving heritage, and highlighting the role of museums in society.
The Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism announced that the celebration will feature a series of activities designed to celebrate the State’s rich cultural heritage.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Acting Director of Arts and Culture in the Ministry, Mrs. Chioma Ifediora, said the Ministry will host a commemorative event at the Head of Service Hall, Chief Jerome Udoji State Secretariat Complex, Awka.
Mrs. Ifediora called on Ndi Anambra to join the celebration, noting that the program will feature drama performances, traditional dance, exhibitions, and other entertainment activities showcasing the State’s history and cultural identity.
International Museum Day, established by the International Council of Museums, is observed annually to raise awareness about the importance of museums as centers for education, dialogue, and cultural understanding.
