‎The Anambra State Police Command has expressed concern over a growing trend in which some social media handlers record and disseminate videos of individuals making allegations of police unprofessional conduct without seeking verification from the Command or pursuing established channels of redress
‎
‎In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command stated that while citizens retain the constitutional right to voice grievances and seek justice, the deliberate circulation of unverified, misleading, or one-sided accounts aimed at inciting public distrust, disrupting security operations, and undermining confidence in security institutions is unacceptable.
‎
‎The Command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, accountability, and the protection of fundamental human rights. It encouraged members of the public to utilize the official complaint and redress mechanisms provided by the Nigeria Police Force for the prompt investigation and resolution of allegations involving police personnel.
‎
‎The available channels for lodging complaints include the Complaint Response Unit, the Police Public Relations Department, and other designated offices. Complaints may be directed through the following contact lines: Command Control Room – 07039194332; Officer in Charge, X Squad – 07015949305; Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) – 08039334002; Officer in Charge, Anti-Cult/VCRU – 07030679375; Rapid Response Squad – 07058040015; and Complaint Response Unit – 08069262121.
‎
‎The Command warned that the misuse of social media to spread false information, incite hatred, or interfere with lawful security operations constitutes an offence and may attract legal consequences. It further assured residents of Anambra State of its continued collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders to enhance public safety, uphold law and order, and strengthen public trust through transparent and community-oriented policing.
‎
‎The Command added that contact details of Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders have been made available for public reference.
