The Anambra State Boundary Committee (ASBC) Technical Team on June 10, convened a meeting with representatives of Ndiukwuenu and Okpeze communities, both in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, to address the boundary dispute between the neighbouring communities.
The meeting, which was held at the Anambra State Boundary Committee Office, Office of the Deputy Governor, Awka, was moderated by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Boundary Matters, Hon. Ekenechukwu Okoye, who represented the Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Anambra State Boundary Committee, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.

Addressing the delegations, the deputy governor, speaking through his representative, emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among communities, noting that peace remains an essential ingredient for growth and development in society.
He urged both communities to embrace dialogue and pursue peaceful resolutions, stressing that meaningful progress can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and mutual understanding.

The President General of Ndiukwuenu, Barr. Chinedu Nwafor, led his community’s presentation before the Committee. In his remarks, the leader of the Okpeze delegation, Pharm. Alphonsis Mmuogbo, requested additional time to properly articulate their position and submit relevant documents to support their case.
Following deliberations, the meeting was adjourned to June 24, to enable the Okpeze community to present its defense and make the necessary submissions.
Other government officials present at the meeting included the Executive Secretary of the State Boundary Committee, Dr. Olisa Mba, and Committee’s Project Surveyor, Surv. Oluchukwu Uzochukwu.
