The Anambra State Ministry of Information and Value Reformation has strengthened its partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), seeking wider public enlightenment and stronger grassroots engagement on road safety statewide.

The Permanent Secretary, Dr Obiageli Uchebo, who led the ministry team on a courtesy visit to the FRSC Sector Commander in Anambra on August 20, said the visit aimed at deepening statewide collaboration successfully.

Dr. Uchebo explained that the ministry serves as a major channel for government information, with officers across all local government areas, enabling important messages to reach communities effectively across Anambra State.

She said the ministry would use its social media platforms, website and other channels to make road safety information more visible, accessible and useful to Ndi Anambra across the state.

The permanent secretary proposed a dedicated road safety information series, including interactive features such as questions, answers and safety tips, to encourage citizens to learn, participate and provide feedback regularly.

She also explained that value reformation was added to the ministry’s mandate to deliberately influence citizens’ mindsets, promoting positive values through enlightenment, legislation and enforcement where necessary for lasting impact.

Dr. Uchebo described the initiative as a multisectoral effort, saying FRSC would be an important partner in educating citizens about responsible behaviour and safer practices on roads throughout Anambra State communities.

The sector Commander Bridget Asekhauno (FRSC) welcomed the partnership, saying FRSC was ready to work with the ministry and appreciated its wider communication reach, especially through media platforms and grassroots structures across Anambra State communities.

She highlighted FRSC school programmes and local structures, stressing that collaboration would help take safety messages from government offices to schools, communities and families across Anambra State throughout the state.
