The Anambra State Government has warned traders in the state to avoid crisis, as the administration led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo prioritizes their welfare.
The warning was issued by the State Director of Markets, Chief Frank Ilodiba, during the election of new executives of the Nkpor Butchers Association in Idemili North Local Government Area.
Chief Ilodiba emphasized the need for peace, love, and development in the market, urging the new executive led by Chairman Onyia Patrick to maintain cleanliness, consult elders, and avoid third-party interference.
He also stressed the importance of prioritizing traders’ welfare and ensuring judicious use of their contributions.
The President General of ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna, commended the traders for conducting a peaceful election and urged the new executive to serve the people with dedication.
The Chairman of the ASMATA State Electoral Committee, Chief Samuel Ifurunwa, advised the executive to carry everyone along and noted that the state government values peaceful elections.
The elected Chairman, Onyia promised to deliver on his campaign promises, including providing an abattoir, land for ranching, and renovating shades to protect against rainfall and flooding.
Other elected officials include Chukwuma Uzim -Vice Chairman, Obasi Chika -Secretary, and Nnoli Anthony- Public Relations Officer.
The Nkpor Main Market Chairman, Chief Paul Oyeka Okafor, praised the traders for their mature behavior during the election and commended Governor Soludo’s development efforts.
The new executive expressed optimism about working with the state government to improve the welfare of traders.
