The Anambra State Government will engage stakeholders in the creative and cultural industries on Oct. 20 to discuss the proposed establishment of the Anambra State Art Council and the Anambra State Censorship Board.

The engagement, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to share their views on the proposed institutions and their potential roles in developing the state’s creative and cultural sectors.

According to a letter signed by the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Udoji Amedu, participants will deliberate on the proposals and exchange ideas on how the institutions could contribute to the growth of the sector.

The discussions will also focus on developing appropriate regulatory and institutional frameworks to promote and protect arts, culture and creative expression in Anambra.

The engagement is expected to give practitioners and other relevant stakeholders an opportunity to contribute to discussions on the proposed institutions, including their anticipated responsibilities in the state’s cultural and creative industries.

The outcome of the consultations could inform further consideration of the proposals and the development of frameworks for their implementation.
