The Anambra State Ministry of Education and Post Primary School Service Commission have commended Hon. Dominic Okafor, member representing Aguata Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, for his educational intervention projects across communities in the state.

The commendation came during the commissioning of a one block of four classrooms built by Hon. Okafor at Community Secondary School, Aguluezechukwu.

Speaking at the event held at the school premises in Aguluezechukwu today, May 14, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, said the lawmaker had executed several educational projects across the state, including the construction of classroom blocks in community schools in Igbo-Ukwu, Uga, Akpo and Umuona.

According to her, the newly constructed classroom block is “an edifice that speaks volumes,” noting that it would create opportunities, renew hope and provide a brighter future for both students and teachers of the institution.

Dr. Agbaizu further stated that the Ministry of Education remained committed to collaborating with well-meaning education philanthropists to drive the educational vision of Chukwuma Soludo to the grassroots.

In her remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Post Primary School Service Commission, Mrs. Bernadine Anigor, described the project as a major contribution to educational development in the area.

“You have turned a need into reality. Your support shows that you believe in the power of education to transform lives. Because of your commitment, hundreds of students will now learn in a safer and more comfortable environment,” she said.

Also speaking, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Assumpta Anazodo, described the project as another milestone in the history of the institution. She noted that the facility would improve teaching and learning by creating a more conducive environment for academic activities and inspiring students to strive for excellence.

In his address, Hon. Dominic Okafor said the project was in fulfilment of a pledge he made to God to positively impact communities within his constituency. He also pledged to donate a Hummer bus to the school to ease transportation challenges in running the institution.

The highlight of the event was the cutting of the tape by Igwe Felix Ekemesie Ebelendu, alongside government officials, community leaders and stakeholders in the education sector.
