The Anambra State Government is strengthening its focus on industry, innovation and infrastructure as key drivers of sustainable economic growth, job creation and improved opportunities for residents.

Under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the state is building on its long standing commercial and industrial strengths in places such as Onitsha and Nnewi, while introducing initiatives aimed at supporting local production, entrepreneurship and digital skills.

The government has continued to support businesses and local producers through funding, equipment and other interventions, particularly in areas such as agro-processing and automobile parts manufacturing.

The strategy places emphasis on equipping young people with skills that can improve their employability and capacity to become self-reliant. Through the “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative, young people are trained in areas including software development, digital marketing and vocational trades, with some beneficiaries receiving grants and equipment to start or expand their businesses.

Infrastructure development remains another key component of the state’s economic strategy. Road projects are ongoing across the 21 Local Government Areas(LGA), including major urban centres such as Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi, with the aim of improving connectivity and easing the movement of people and goods.

The government is promoting tourism and investment through projects such as Solution Fun City, designed to create recreational opportunities while attracting visitors and stimulating economic activity.

Improved infrastructure, the government maintains, can make it easier for businesses to establish, expand and operate efficiently. Better roads and a more secure business environment can also encourage investment, support local industries and create more opportunities for young people.

By connecting industrial development with skills training, innovation, infrastructure and investment, the state is seeking to build an economy that creates jobs, supports enterprise and improves the standard of living of its people.

The approach reflects the administration’s broader Solution Agenda, which places economic development and human capital investment at the centre of its efforts to build a more productive and prosperous Anambra.
