More than 1,000 residents of Enugwu-Agidi in Njikoka Local Government Area(LGA) of Anambra State have benefited from a free medical mission organised by the Anambra State Association, USA (ASA-USA) in collaboration with the Enugwu-Agidi Progressive Union, USA (EPU-USA).
The 2026 medical mission, held on Aug. 7, at the Enugwu-Agidi Secretariat, attracted residents seeking medical consultations, assessments and other healthcare services provided during the outreach.

The exercise drew the attention of community leaders, including the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Agidi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Michael Chidozie Okekeuche (Okpalariam III), and the President-General of Enugwu-Agidi Town Union, Chief Pius Nwankwo (Ozo Okpete), who visited the venue to assess the progress of the programme.
The community leaders toured the various medical stations and observed the services being provided to beneficiaries.
They were accompanied by the Member representing Njikoka 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chidi Ibemeka; Dr. Osita Anameze (Onowu Enugwu-Agidi); and the Vice President-General of the town union, Comrade Emeka Ementa.
Speaking during the visit, Igwe Okekeuche expressed appreciation to ASA-USA and EPU-USA for bringing the medical intervention to the community, describing it as a meaningful contribution to the health and wellbeing of residents.

He urged community members to take advantage of the opportunity to access the available medical services and professional consultations.
The traditional ruler commended the organisers for their commitment to the welfare of the people and for sustaining initiatives that directly benefit the community.
In his remarks, the President-General of the town union, Chief Pius Nwankwo, praised the organisers for the coordination of the exercise, expressing optimism that the outreach would make a positive difference in the lives of beneficiaries.
Also speaking, Oba Sir Sunny Okoye, one of the key figures behind the initiative, said the medical mission was driven by a desire to improve access to healthcare and support the community through practical interventions.

He reaffirmed the commitment of ASA-USA to supporting similar health and development initiatives in Enugwu-Agidi in the future.
The Member representing Njikoka 1 Constituency, Hon. Chidi Ibemeka, commended ASA-USA and EPU-USA for complementing government efforts to make healthcare more accessible, particularly for residents who may face financial barriers to accessing certain medical services.

The medical mission, organised in partnership with Prince Dr. Chinedu Ikeanyi, continues to attract residents from different parts of the community.
The organisers said the exercise would continue for the duration of the programme to ensure that residents requiring services covered by the mission have an opportunity to benefit.
The outreach has also strengthened the connection between Enugwu-Agidi and its sons and daughters in the diaspora, demonstrating how community partnerships can contribute to improving access to essential services at the grassroots.
