YOUTH COMMISSIONER COMMENDS ANAMBRA POLY FOR LAUNCH OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVP CENTER

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghah has commended the management of Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, on the official launch of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre. The centre aimed to engage students, interested youths, and the broader community in skills development and entrepreneurial training .
Mr. Agha Mba emphasized that the establishment of the Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Centre aligned with the agenda of His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. The centre seeks to equip youths with multiple practical skills, thereby fostering partnerships, especially through the innovative 1Youth 2Skills Cooperative, Startup, and Mentorship programs.
He further highlighted that the youth-centred policies of Governor Soludo, particularly the 1Youth 2Skills initiative, are designed to provide every youth in Anambra State with opportunities to acquire skills of their choice. The ultimate goal is to create sustainable jobs and improve job quality, thereby addressing unemployment and mitigating social vices through non-kinetic, purposeful interventions.
During his recent visit, the commissioner led the grand opening of the centres and engaged with facilitators at various skill hubs, marking a significant milestone in the polytechnic’s commitment to youth empowerment.
The Rector of Anambra State Polytechnic, Dr. Mrs. Njideka Chiekezie, reiterated that the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre is consistent with Governor Soludo’s vision to transform Anambra into a skills hub. She described the institution’s commitment as “1 Degree, 2 Skills,” emphasizing that students graduate not only with academic qualifications but also with competency-based certifications accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, has officially launched seven dedicated Skills and Entrepreneurship Centres accessible to both students and the general public. These centres offer training in the following areas: Media and Photography, Solar and CCTV Installation, Tailoring and Textile, Welding and Fabrication, Bakery and Confectionery, Block Moulding and Brick Laying, and Cosmetology.
