EVENT ANCHORS, COMEDIANS ENDORSE SOLUDO FOR SECOND TERM

By Ukpa Ewa

Members of Talk Service Providers of Nigeria (TSPN), Anambra State Chapter, comprising masters of ceremonies, protocol officers and stand up comedians from across the 21 local government areas of the state, have officially endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for second term in office.

The endorsement was made during the Association’s 2025 Summit themed “Event Anchoring in a Developing Economy” held at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka.

Speaking at the event, the host and convener Comrade Shedrack Nnanna said that the endorsement stemmed from the group unanimous agreement that Governor Soludo has performed creditably in his first term. He announced plans to formally register the association and strengthen its role in promoting social cohesion and community development.

“We believe in Soludo’s vision and we all have our PVCs ready to support him. The Governor has done a lot and we are standing by him to continue,” Nnanna said.

Receiving the endorsement on behalf of Governor Soludo, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, commended the group for their support, describing their profession as both artistic and impactful. He emphasized that Soludo’s administration has maintained integrity and delivery without resorting to borrowing, particularly in the area of road infrastructure.

“Governor Soludo’s manifesto is not just a written document, it is a bond with the people. He has implemented projects that once seemed impossible and he continues to work tirelessly to fulfill the long term promise of his agenda,” Dr. Ibezim said.

He encouraged the entertainers and service providers to amplify the achievements of the current administration and resist the temptation to “sell their conscience or mortgage the future of their children.” He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilization as the election season approaches, urging them to begin engagement at the polling unit level.

In his goodwill message, the Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi, represented by the former Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South LGA, Hon. Leo Nwuba, applauded TSPN growing influence in the state. He described the group as a vital grassroots network with leadership capable of deepening community engagement.

“Their structure and reach are invaluable. We urge them to take the message of good governance to every cranny of the state,” he said.

The summit featured keynote address by Prof. Chike Okoye, former Head of English Department at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and included lively performances by MCs and entertainers who showcased their craft as part of the event.
