The member representing Njikoka Constituency 1 in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chidi Ibemeka, FCAI, has on Oct. 5 commended teachers across Enugwu-Ukwu, Nawfia, Enugwu-Agidi, Anambra State and Nigeria for their dedication to shaping the future of society.
Ibemeka, who is also Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum and Mineral Resources, gave the commendation in a goodwill message marking the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, describing educators as “builders of the future, molders of destinies and silent heroes.”
He expressed appreciation, on behalf of the people of Njikoka Constituency 1, for the patience, dedication and selfless service of teachers, particularly in the face of challenges confronting the education sector.
According to him, their responsibilities go beyond classroom instruction, as they help instil discipline, morals, resilience and other values needed to raise responsible citizens.
The lawmaker noted that virtually every profession owes part of its success to the teaching profession, stressing that doctors, engineers, lawyers, lawmakers and other professionals were products of the classroom and the efforts of educators.
“Without you, there is no doctor, no engineer, no lawmaker, and no nation,” Ibemeka stated, describing teachers as indispensable partners in national development.
He assured educators of his continued commitment to supporting improved welfare and promoting quality education for children in Njikoka Constituency 1, stressing that investment in education remains essential to building a prosperous and sustainable society.
While congratulating teachers on their special day, Ibemeka prayed that God would reward their labour of love and grant them strength, good health and fulfilment in their noble profession. “You deserve to be celebrated today and always. Happy World Teachers’ Day!” he said.
