The United Nations Children’s Fund and the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening HIV response efforts in Anambra State through enhanced collaboration and strategic partnership.
This was the focus of a strategic partnership meeting hosted by ANSACA to advance efforts toward achieving the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets and improving healthcare outcomes for residents of the state.

The UNICEF delegation, led by Mrs. Juliet Enujioke, Programme Associate, representing Dr. Ifeyinwa Anyanyo, Health Specialist, UNICEF, was received by the Executive Director of ANSACA, Hillary Nkem Okeke, alongside management staff and unit heads of the agency.
Discussions at the meeting centred on strengthening collaborative efforts in HIV prevention, paediatric HIV care, Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), as well as adolescent and youth-friendly healthcare services.

The meeting also reviewed strategies for implementing the ANSACA State Strategic Transformation and Sustainability Plan (SSTSP) 2026–2028 aimed at building a sustainable and people-centred HIV response system in the state.
Participants reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Anambra State Government under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and UNICEF to improving the wellbeing of women, children, and young people across the state.

The stakeholders urged residents to know their HIV status, remain healthy, and support efforts to end stigma and curb the spread of HIV in the society.
