The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo, has brought various tricycle operators’ unions together under one umbrella to promote unity, peace, cooperation and effective coordination.
The Commissioner disclosed this during a meeting with representatives of the different tricycle unions on September 15, at his office, Secretariat Complex, Awka.
Hon. Ibuzo explained that tricycle riders would be in charge of the union at the unit level, while stakeholders would oversee its affairs at the state level.
He urged the various unions to work together in love, equity and mutual understanding, stressing that unity among transport operators remained essential for effective management and development of the sector.
The Commissioner encouraged the different groups to put aside their differences and embrace cooperation, assuring them that fairness would remain central to the Ministry’s efforts.
He maintained that the initiative would strengthen collaboration among tricycle operators, promote peaceful coexistence and contribute to a more organised and efficient transportation system across Anambra.
Speaking on behalf of their respective groups, Hon. Wilfred Ezike, Ifeanyi Okafor and Ezeilo Chidim Frank thanked the Commissioner for bringing them together.
They pledged to promote peace and unity among the various tricycle unions and riders in Anambra State, while assuring the Commissioner of their support for the initiative.
Ifeanyi Okafor also assured the meeting that the welfare of tricycle riders would henceforth receive greater attention, while calling for continued cooperation among all stakeholders in the sector.
