‎Tansi International College, Awka, has organised a one-day professional development seminar for more than 40 members of its teaching staff as part of efforts to enhance teaching standards and prepare them for the new academic session.
‎
‎The seminar, held on Sept. 11, provided the teachers with an opportunity for learning, reflection and professional development, while reinforcing their commitment to achieving educational excellence.
‎
‎Declaring the programme open, the Principal of the College, Rev. Fr. Hilary Okwunalu, welcomed the participants and urged them to demonstrate dedication, professionalism, teamwork and a commitment to continuous improvement in the discharge of their duties. He stressed the importance of effective teaching and the significant role teachers play in shaping the academic, moral and personal development of young people.
‎
‎The seminar featured presentations by two guest speakers, Mrs. Nfor Marybruno Chinatu and Rev. Fr. Dennis Nwabueze, who spoke on contemporary teaching practices, classroom management, mentorship and the evolving demands of education in the 21st century.
‎
‎The Vice Principal (Academics), Rev. Fr. Patrick Nweke, also used the occasion to communicate the expectations of the College management to the teachers ahead of the commencement of the new academic session.
‎
‎Rev. Fr. Nweke said the training reflected the College’s commitment to investing in the professional development of its teachers, noting that quality education depends significantly on the competence, preparedness and commitment of those entrusted with teaching and mentoring students.
‎
‎The sessions were highly interactive, with participants engaging the speakers through questions, contributions and the sharing of professional experiences. The programme concluded with renewed emphasis on teamwork, continuous learning and excellence as the teachers prepare to welcome students for the new academic session.
