The Vice-Chancellor of Peter University, Rev. Fr. Prof. Chukwuemenam Emmanuel Umezinwa, has challenged lecturers to raise the bar in teaching and student engagement as the institution prepares to begin a new academic session.
Prof. Umezinwa tasked lecturers on Sept. 9, during a meeting with members of the teaching staff to fine-tune preparations for the new session.
He advised lecturers to embrace continuous improvement and renewed dedication, stressing that the quality of students’ learning experience depends largely on the commitment and effectiveness of their teachers.

The vice chancellor outlined the academic roadmap for the session, including key activities, schedules and expectations, while urging lecturers to make meaningful contributions to the university’s growth.
He said achieving the institution’s vision of academic excellence required the collective commitment of management and staff, particularly in creating an environment where students can learn, develop and fulfil their potential.
The meeting gave lecturers an opportunity to raise challenges affecting their work, providing management with insights into areas requiring attention as the university prepares to welcome returning and new students.
Those at the meeting included the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Adaora Enenchi; University Librarian, Dr. Frederick Obodoeze; Deputy Director, Academic Planning, Rev. Fr. Dr. Modestus Anyaegbu; and Acting Dean, Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences, Rev. Fr. Dr. Ezeani Emefena.
The meeting ended with management and teaching staff reaffirming their commitment to a productive session and a stronger learning experience for students.
