St. John of God Secondary School, Awka, has commenced the new academic term with a Resumption Mass for its management, staff and students.
The Eucharistic celebration, held on Sept. 14, provided an opportunity for members of the school community to pray for guidance, wisdom and protection throughout the term.
The Mass was presided over by the school’s Manager and Chief Celebrant, Rev. Fr. Malachy Maduewesi, alongside the Assistant Manager, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Igboanugo, and the Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Ezeanyika John.
In his homily, Maduewesi urged the students to cultivate hard work and discipline as part of their efforts to achieve academic success.
He also encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and uphold good character as they pursued their educational goals.
The chief celebrant prayed for God’s blessings on the students, teachers and management, while seeking guidance for the school community throughout the term.
He said the lessons and experiences of the term should contribute to the students’ academic development and character formation.
