Retired Deputy Director, Chief Humphrey Ikebido has poured encomiums on Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s doggedness to changing Anambra State economy from consumption to productive economy.
He said this in an interaction with information officers, at Akpo, in Aguata LGA, on
December 9.
The senior citizen said, “Anambra State 2026 budget proposal has spoken volume about Governor Soludo’s economic know how, proven clearly that he is indeed an Economist of International Repute.
“A budget proposal of N757.9 Billion, having N595.3 Billion representing 79% as capital expenditure, points at planning tomorrow from today.
“Capital expenditures are funds allocated to acquire, upgrade and maintain long term physical assets that are essential for its operation and growth.
“These assets are expected to provide economic benefits for years to come.
“For instance, if the pace at which ongoing road construction in Anambra State continues, in next 4 years, we must have saved Ndi Anambra time of moving goods and services from one point to another.
“These time saved will change to economic fortunes. Our vehicles will no longer be visiting mechanic workshops often, as such save us a lot of money.”
According to him, in area of health, most hospitals are being equipped, as it continues, many will come into Anambra State for medical attention, as such making the environs economically viable.
“Soludo is indeed divine gift to Ndi Anambra.”
Chief Ikebido extolled Anambra electorates for doing what they ought to do during November 8 Gubernatorial Election.
“We voted wisely. Soludo as a good market sold itself.
“Having re-elected him, we need to rally round him support for success.
“This we could do by obeying government directives, pay our taxes and levies, report crooked and suspicious movements to appropriate authorities.
He pleaded with politicians who lost the election to Soludo to congratulate and walk with him, stressing that Anambra State interest ought to be above every other personal interest.
