The Solution Continues Team (SCT), Anambra State, and the Mayor of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Hon. Chukwuemelie Ezennia Ibekwe, have expressed their commitment to working together to advance Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development agenda.
The commitment followed a familiarisation visit by an SCT delegation, led by its State Coordinator, Hon. Prince Chinedu Ofojebe, to the mayor on Oct. 20.
Ofojebe, who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters in the Office of the Deputy Governor, said the visit was intended to welcome the mayor and establish a working relationship between SCT and the local government administration.
He said SCT had established its presence across the political wards in Onitsha North and was strengthening its structures across Anambra’s 326 political wards.
According to him, the team is focused on promoting the policies and programmes of the Soludo administration, particularly its five development pillars: security, law and order; infrastructure and economic transformation; human capital development and social agenda; good governance and value system; and environment and urban regeneration.
Ofojebe said cooperation between SCT and local government authorities would encourage grassroots participation, improve public engagement and help communicate government policies and programmes to residents.
He assured the mayor of the team’s readiness to work with his administration to support the implementation of the governor’s development agenda.
The SCT coordinator said the delegation had also inspected the ongoing Magazine Junction 33 Bridge project, describing it as part of the state government’s infrastructure development efforts.
He said the project was expected to improve connectivity and address transportation challenges along the corridor.
In his response, Ibekwe welcomed the delegation and said his administration was committed to inclusive governance through consultation, cooperation and open communication.
He said the local government was open to partnerships and initiatives that would promote residents’ interests and support the state government’s development objectives.
The mayor also recognised some members of the delegation as longstanding associates, noting the existing relationships that could foster closer cooperation between SCT and the local government.
Other members of the delegation included the SCT Anambra North Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Onoye Nnaemeka; Onitsha North Local Government Coordinator, Hon. Chike Obiozo; State Media Director, Comrade Eze Ikechukwu Eze, and Onitsha North Ward 8 Coordinator and State Deputy Protocol Officer, Comrade Chigozie Okechukwu.
