Rosary College, Nise, has appealed for support from well-meaning individuals, corporate bodies, parents, old students and friends of the college to complete its proposed Chapel, auditorium and mini sports stadium, described as the spiritual heart of the institution.

The appeal was made in the welcome address delivered by the school Manager, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Ositadimma Amakeze, during the 2026 Feast Day Celebration of the college, Investiture cum Pastoral visit held at the school premises in Nise, Anambra State on October 9.
The college, a product of vision, faith, sacrifice and determination, was established in 2006 by the Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Awka Diocese, under the leadership of Dame Pauline Ndibe (KSS) as Director, Lady Theresa Azodo as Secretary, Very Rev. Fr. Charles Umeoji as Chaplain and one of the principal visionaries, with Rev. Sr. Prof. Terrace Okeke as Sister Adviser.

According to Fr. Amakeze, the school opened on Oct. 7, 2006 with 95 pioneer students, all boarders, and 18 staff, and was officially inaugurated on Oct. 10, 2007 with a Pontifical Mass celebrated by the late Most Rev. Dr. Simon Akwali Okafor. The institution has since grown in academics, character formation, discipline, spirituality and service to humanity, a development attributed to the pioneering vision of the CWO, whose investment in girl-child education was described as an investment in families, the Church, society and the nation’s future.

The manager noted that the proposed Chapel and other facilities will provide a place where students can begin and end their days in God’s presence, seek guidance, give thanks and grow in Christian values, while also raising talents for the school and the nation, emphasizing that contributions toward the project are not merely for constructing buildings but for building a spiritual home for generations yet unborn, stressing that when a girl is educated, a nation is educated, as she grows into a mother, professional, leader and nation builder.
Earlier in his homily, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of the school and described the event as a significant step toward the full takeover and return of the school to Church control to enable it to be run in line with its mission. He lauded the CWO for founding Rosary College and paid tribute to priests, supporters and the students who remain the reason for the mission.
The prelate restated the Church’s philosophy on education, noting that mission schools are unique for forming the total person – body and soul – and for training children for both this world and the world to come. He warned that academic excellence without moral and religious grounding is incomplete, and charged teachers to remain committed to raising a generation that will be better than the present one, adding that any generation that fails to raise successors better than itself has not done well.
Bishop Ezeokafor also formally inducted newly admitted students, vesting them with the navy blue uniform which he described as a symbol of priority, intelligence and responsibility. He urged them to wear the uniform with dignity, to honour their teachers, parents and guardians, to remain obedient and docile in training, and to conduct themselves as worthy examples to the greater glory of God.
The event, which drew CWO leaders led by its Director, Lady Ngozi Dorathy Muo, priests, Nise monarch, parents, and friends of the college, featured the commissioning of Water Fountain/Treatment Facility, Farm + Planting Apple & Pomegranate, Solar Energy and Award presentation to distinguished guests.
