Road infrastructure remains fundamental to economic growth, social integration, and poverty reduction and Anambra State, under Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, is demonstrating exemplary leadership in this regard.

Since assumption of office, the Soludo administration has accorded priority to road infrastructure, with contracts awarded for over 800 kilometres of roads valued in excess of N300 billion. More than 500 kilometres have been completed to date, reflecting a capital-intensive strategy that is further consolidated in the 2025–2026 budgetary framework.
All state-funded bridges have either been completed or are at advanced stages of completion. These include the Ekwulobia Bridge, Atani–Ozubulu Bridge, Nzam Bridge, Aroma Overpass, and the Ulasi Bridge, which is scheduled for imminent commissioning.

Projects have been executed within stipulated timelines and budgets, with equitable distribution across the State’s three senatorial districts. Notable projects include the dualisation of the Amawbia–Agulu–Ekwulobia–Uga Road to the Imo State border; the Ekwulobia–Oko–Ufuma Road; the Ekwulobia–Nnobi Road; the Agulu–Nnobi–Nnewi–Ozubulu Road with bridge; and the Onitsha–Nsugbe–Aguleri Road (33 Road).
In a demonstration of fiscal efficiency, savings realized from projects have been re-channeled into the construction of additional roads and bridges, underscoring the administration’s commitment to transformative and sustainable infrastructure development.
