‎The Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council (ASTRC) has prayed for the new Head of Service, Barr. Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, pledging support for her administration and urging improved welfare for civil servants. The appeal was made during a courtesy visit by ASTRC executives to the Head of Service at the Jerome Udorji Secretariat, Awka, on Thursday.
‎
‎Receiving the delegation, Barr. Iwouno thanked the monarchs for their prayers, describing the gesture as a morale boost. She noted improvements in work ethics among civil servants, adding that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is committed to transforming the State Civil Service into a 21st Century Smart Service.
‎
‎The HOS warned that absenteeism and dereliction of duty would no longer be tolerated, stressing her resolve to enhance workers’ welfare while enforcing discipline and accountability.
‎

‎Earlier, Chairman of ASTRC Central Zone and Igwe of Ebenebe, His Royal Majesty Christopher Nnagbuna, commended the HOS for her reception and urged her to lead with compassion. “Anyone who listens to kings enjoys the backing of the Almighty God,” he said, praying for divine wisdom and strength for her office.
‎
‎Secretary-General of ASTRC and Igwe of Uke, His Royal Majesty Surv. Charles Agbala, assured Iwouno of the council’s support and lauded Governor Soludo’s decision to appoint her. He however called for improved workers’ welfare amid rising living costs.
‎
‎The traditional rulers held a prayer session for the HOS and the Soludo administration, expressing confidence in continued successes for the government.
‎
‎Also present were HRM Dr. Benjamin Okeji of Omasi, HRM Igwe P. N. Ezeamama of Enugu-Umuonyia, and ASTRC Administrative Secretary, Prince Donatus Orjika.
