The Anambra State Police Command has continued to strengthen public confidence and stakeholder support following a courtesy visit by retired Inspector-General of Police and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), RTD. IGP Mike Okiro, and former PSC Chairman, Chief Simon Okeke, to the Command Headquarters in Awka on July 31.
According to a statement issued to journalists in Awka by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the distinguished visitors were accompanied by former Permanent Secretary of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Michael Ibeh.
They were received by the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), AIG Ikioye Orutugu, alongside members of the Command’s Management Team and other senior officers.
The visit highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force, respected leaders, and key stakeholders in promoting effective policing, strengthening public trust, and enhancing security across Anambra State.
The command described the visit as a strong vote of confidence in its ongoing efforts to promote professionalism, intelligence-led policing, and community-oriented policing in the fight against crime and the maintenance of public safety.
Restating its commitment to the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, the Anambra State Police Command pledged to continue deepening its engagement with stakeholders and members of the public to build a more people-oriented, accountable, and responsive Police Force.
