‎As the world commemorated World Bicycle Day, residents across various communities have highlighted the importance of bicycles in promoting healthy living, affordable transportation and environmental sustainability.

‎Speaking on the significance of the day, environmental advocates noted that bicycles remain one of the most eco-friendly means of transportation, producing no harmful emissions and contributing to efforts aimed at reducing air pollution and combating climate change.
‎
‎They stressed that increased adoption of cycling could play a crucial role in creating cleaner and more sustainable cities while reducing dependence on motor vehicles.
‎
‎Cyclists who spoke on the occasion described the bicycle as a practical and affordable mode of transport. According to them, cycling not only provides an effective means of getting around but also serves as a form of exercise that helps maintain physical fitness and reduce traffic congestion on roads.

‎Students also expressed appreciation for the convenience bicycles offer, particularly for commuting to school and moving around their neighbourhoods. Many of them said cycling gives them a sense of freedom and independence while helping them save transportation costs.

‎Health professionals emphasized the numerous health benefits associated with regular cycling. They explained that bicycling contributes to improved cardiovascular fitness, strengthens muscles, reduces stress levels and supports overall physical and mental wellbeing.
