Regina Caeli Specialist Hospital, Awka, has trained its Unit Heads, Line Managers and Heads of Departments on effective leadership and management.
The two day training, held on Sept. 18, was facilitated by the hospital’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), Rev. Fr. Innocent Affusim.
Affusim said the training was aimed at helping participants better understand their roles, responsibilities and expectations in leading people and managing hospital units.
He said the workshop also provided an opportunity for participants to learn, reflect, ask questions and discuss effective leadership, teamwork and management in the healthcare environment.
According to him, the continued growth of the hospital requires strong institutional systems supported by personnel who understand their responsibilities and remain committed to them.
The MD/CEO said effective leadership and competent management were essential to improving service delivery and ensuring quality patient care.
Affusim said the training was part of the hospital’s efforts to develop its workforce and strengthen the systems required for efficient and patient centred healthcare delivery.
He reiterated the management’s commitment to the continuous professional development of its personnel.
