PROF. MUONEKE SUPPORTS COOU STUDENTS’ SAFETY UNIT WITH FIRST AID MATERIALS

Prof. Simon Ifeanyi Muoneke of the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam Campus, has donated safety and first aid materials to the institution’s Students’ Accident and Safety Unit.

The donation was presented on Aug. 26, at the Lecturer’s Office, Faculty of Arts Auditorium, Old Site, Igbariam Campus.

Speaking during the presentation, Prof. Muoneke said the gesture was driven by his concern for students’ welfare and the need to strengthen prompt first aid response during accidents and other emergencies on campus.

He explained that the initiative was not simply about providing equipment but about promoting a stronger culture of safety, preparedness and care within the university community.

Receiving the materials on behalf of the Unit, its Head, Dr. Afamnede Godfrey, thanked Prof. Muoneke for the support, describing the donation as timely and valuable to the Unit’s operations.

Dr. Godfrey assured that the materials would be properly utilised to support students and enhance the Unit’s ability to respond to emergencies when necessary.

Staff and students of the Faculty of Arts attended the presentation, which underscored the importance of collective responsibility in promoting safety and student welfare within the university.
