The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has appointed Dr Obianuju Chinelo Okoye as new Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHCDA).
In a press statement dated April 23, 2026 and signed by Chief Press Secretary to Anambra Governor, Mr Christian Aburime, Prof. Soludo approved appointments of Heads of various Anambra Health institutions to include; Executive Secretary, ASPHCDA- Dr Obianuju Chinelo Okoye, Executive Secretary ASHIA- Dr Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme and Executive Director, Anambra State AIDS Control Agency- Dr Hillary Nkem Okeke.
The new ASPHCDA Boss is an experienced Medical Practitioner with strong administrative competencies, exceptional training skills, and extensive clinical practice that cuts across hospitals and public health sector with over 20 years of integrated experience.
She holds an MBBS degree in Medicine and Surgery from Ebonyi State University, a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Diploma in Family Medicine from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, with attendance to several conferences and paper presentations.
With diverse, top-notch and rich clinical experiences and skills, the new appointed Heads of the Health institutions; Dr Okoye, Dr. Uwaeme, and Dr. Okeke are trusted by the State Government to elevate the quality of healthcare delivery in Anambra State to greater heights.
Dr Okoye of Primary Healthcare Agency would take over reins of ASPHCDA leadership from Executive Secretary- Pharm. Chisom Uchem, who took over the reins from Pioneer and past Executive Secretary- Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu in March 2023.
