Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has received two Omma vehicles donated by the Igboukwu Community for government use, especially for the security of life and property. The handover took place on May 12, at Light House in Awka.

The Governor, on behalf of the government and the people of Anambra State, expressed gratitude to the Igboukwu Community in Aguata LGA, noting that the vehicles will be put to good use.

“We sincerely appreciate your kindness and commend your community. This aligns with the principles of Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP). Government alone cannot do it; it requires collaboration among the public, private sector, and the community. I also remember your community’s contribution to my reelection. When talking about the Igbo people, Igboukwu is mentioned and the significance of the symbolic bronze is boldly written here at the Light House.”

“Igboukwu is a remarkable community with distinguished sons and daughters doing great things. We look forward to deeper partnerships. I am proud that Igboukwu has today marked its own signature in the progress story,” he said.

Governor Soludo commended all the philanthropists in Anambra who have generously contributed to the state’s development through projects like road construction, schools, and hospitals. “Recently, we received seven vehicles from Zenco, Ukpor, for security, and similar initiatives are ongoing across the state.

I urge Ndi Anambra to understand that the government’s resources constitute less than two percent of the state’s total annual income, making it impossible to do everything alone. The remaining 98 per cent is in private hands. To accelerate our transformation, we must harness these resources effectively. To those who haven’t yet contributed, we ask for your partnership. Let’s work together to build a greater Anambra, which is on the rise.”

Representing the Igboukwu Community, the President-General, Dr. Sir MCK Ubah, expressed pride in collaborating with the government by providing tangible support for the state’s service.

He commended the governor for developmental projects like the Igboukwu-Amichi road construction and the dualization of the Ekwulobia-Igboukwu- Nnobi road, and appealed for urgent action against erosion threatening parts of the community. “Igboukwu Community believes in your vision, competence, and dedication to the people. We pledge our unwavering support to your administration,” he declared.
