The Post Primary Schools Service Commission in Anambra State has staged its Students’ Cultural Carnival/award giving ceremony in grand Style.

The grand ceremony, which took place at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square Awka , attracted Igbo/ Education friendly personalities and some top government functionaries.

The thrust of their speeches centered on promoting the cultural heritage of the Igbos through catching them young and equipping the youth with sound education as a back up towards building their personalities.

In her message to the occasion, the State Commissioner for Education Prof.Ngozi Chuma- Udeh thanked the Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu led Commission for her bold initiative which has enhanced the spread of the Igbo cultural heritage.

Prof.Chuma- Udeh described herself as a committed and proud Igbo woman who will stop at nothing to promote the Igbo cultural values and encouraged others to do the same.

In her address, the State Chairman of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission Prof. Ikediugwu spoke of her vision and mission statement which include the promotion of the Igbo cultural values and sound education of the youths to back it up.

Prof. Ikediugwu commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his commitment for sound education and promoting the Igbo core values.

She also acknowledged the efforts of the Education Commissioner Prof. Chuma-Udeh, and other education friendly personalities in the state and beyond for being committed allies in the promotion of the Igbo cultural heritage.

The Commissioner for Culture,Tourism and Entertainment Comrade Don Onjenji in a remark, commended the PPSSC boss for her great initiative which is in line with the vision of key notable Igbo scholars within and outside the shores of Nigeria.

The Chairman of the occasion, Rev. Fr. Prof. Bona Christus Umeogu, thanked the organizers of the cultural carnival for their land mark commitment towards the promotion of the Igbo cultural heritage and tasked the audience to be part of the crusade to enhance its promotion.

One the key awardees during the occasion Ambassador Uju Ellah Ebenatu in a note of appreciation, thanked the organizers of the occasion for recognizing her role towards investing in education.

According to Ambassador Ebenatu, education remains the key towards the sustainable growth of every progressive society.

As a proud alumni of the New Era Girls Secondary School Onitsha, she expressed her commitment towards promoting the Igbo cultural heritage and encouraged others to do the same.

The Ambassador used the forum to appreciate Governor Soludo’s sound developmental accomplishments and endorsed his second term in office.

The Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka among other distinguished Nigerians, bagged awards of recognitions during the occasion.

Highlights on the occasion were cultural dances, masquerade displays and cultural exhibitions by schools across the state.
