By David Okpala/Stella Okpala
A Philanthropist, Nze O. G Chuma, has emphasized the importance of regular exercise, describing it as requisite to longevity.
He said this in a lecture he delivered to Akpo elderly people, 70 and above who have been benefiting from Late Nze Gabriel/Elizabeth Obi Charity Foundation, at Agbelu Village Hall, Akpo, in Aguata LGA, on May 3.
These men/ women have been receiving N5,000 to N10,000 stipend from the aforementioned foundation in the last 55 months.
Nze Chuma said, “Regular exercise is a veritable tool to elongating life. It is affordable, hence working around your compound establishes exercise.
“The idea of bringing a nurse to checking blood pressure and blood sugar level is for you to know proper time to visit doctor in a hospital.”
He enjoined these old people to make their children know that money ritual of any kind is scam.
“One of the characteristics of money is relative scarcity(Aku ezu mkpa). This is to say that no man could have money enough.
“So, if any man knows rituals that could make much money, he would
not let anybody know about it. The proper rituals that make people rich is knowing how to make money and how to keep money.”
According to Nze Chuma, making money is about mastering your line of business or work, working hard to satisfying your client or customer.
“It is not possible to give what you do not have, therefore, as a student, put efforts to learning what you are being taught. Same applicable to apprentice. It is good to own certificate but better maximize skill acquisition. The next is diligently keeping money made and investing for further earnings.”
Nze Chuma added that giving is another key that opens the door of being rich, urging beneficiaries of his foundation to give gift to one another and even to the rich.
One of the most remarkable highlights of the occasion is a mentee of the Foundation, Mr Anselem Ozuo bringing large quantity of well cooked rice, drinkable water to making sure that everybody in the occasion fed well.
“Nze O.G Chuma who is in his late 70s stood for over an hour delivering these lectures, a fit he attributed to regular exercise.”
He pledged to align himself to Nze O.G Chuma’s giving ideology. Each elder went home with large sized loaf of bread.
Reacting to the lectures, one of the beneficiaries, Nze Nwagborogu Obiapusi, thanked the benefactors for their benevolence to the elderly. He prayed God to keep them for the elderly and bless their endeavours for more.
