Anambra State has reaffirmed its commitment to creating a more transparent, competitive and investor-friendly business environment through a strengthened partnership with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

The commitment was highlighted during the PEBEC Town Hall Engagement held in Awka on June 10, where government officials, investors, business leaders and development partners reviewed ongoing reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business and attracting investment.

Representing Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, said the collaboration aligns with the administration’s Vision 2070 agenda and its drive to build a prosperous and livable homeland.

The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Chukwukadibia Okoye, said Anambra’s improving business climate is driven by investments in security, infrastructure, human capital development, governance reforms and environmental sustainability.

According to him, reforms such as tax harmonisation, streamlined regulatory processes, improved land administration and expanded digital services have enhanced investor confidence and made government services more efficient and accessible.

“Ease of doing business is the result of deliberate actions across multiple sectors that enable businesses to start, grow and thrive. Our goal is to ensure Anambra remains a preferred destination for investment and innovation,” Okoye said.

In her virtual address, PEBEC Director-General, Princess Zahrah Audu, commended Anambra’s commitment to business-friendly reforms, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration between federal and state governments to drive economic growth and private-sector development.

The engagement ended with renewed commitments from PEBEC and the Anambra State Government to remove barriers to business, attracting more investment and accelerating economic transformation.

A panel session featuring key state officials also highlighted ongoing reforms in land administration, revenue harmonisation, regulatory efficiency and investment facilitation.
