Parents and guardians have been urged to encourage their children and wards to participate actively in Block Rosary activities as part of efforts to strengthen their spiritual growth and commitment to the catholic faith.
The Chairman of the Parents and Guardians Leaders Association (PGLA), Mr. Uchenna Okonkwo, made the call during the 56th anniversary celebration of the Immaculate Conception Block Rosary Centre, Odoakpu, Onitsha.
Okonkwo encouraged non-members to join the Block Rosary Crusade, describing it as a platform that promotes spiritual development and positive values among young people.

He said the Blessed Virgin Mary had remained a source of faith and blessings to his family, adding that his personal experiences had strengthened his commitment to the devotion.
According to him, the Block Rosary has played an important role in nurturing young people, encouraging vocations to the religious life, including the emergence of reverend sisters and seminarians.
In her welcome address, Miss Oluoma Nnaemele said the Block Rosary Centre was founded in 1970 at No. 43 Ozomagla Street, Odoakpu, under the pioneer leadership of Mr. Ogbiagu Paul, Bro. Omaliko Okechukwu and the late Bro. Agbapuluonwu.
She explained that the centre had helped members prepare for the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation, noting that the movement had continued to grow over the years.
Nnaemele appealed to parents and guardians to encourage their children and wards to participate in daily Block Rosary prayers, congresses and morning masses to deepen their faith and spiritual development.
The anniversary celebration featured a fashion parade, cake cutting, presentation of awards and cultural dances.
