The Traditional Prime Minister of Okpeze Community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Donatus Nwafor, has congratulated the council’s Mayor, Captain Casmir Nwafor (rtd.), on his successful swearing-in for a second term in office by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
In a congratulatory message on October 9, Chief Nwafor commended the mayor for his efforts towards the development of the local government area, urging him to redouble his efforts and build on his achievements during his first term.
The traditional prime minister called on the mayor to adopt an inclusive approach to governance by addressing the challenges facing all communities in the council area without discrimination or prejudice.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Soludo for swearing in the mayor alongside his counterparts across the state, describing the exercise as an important step in strengthening local government administration. Chief Nwafor also extended his congratulations to all 21 local government mayors in Anambra State, wishing them successful and productive tenures.
The traditional prime minister used the opportunity to invite the mayor to the traditional New Yam Festival of the traditional ruler of Okpeze Community, His Royal Majesty Igwe Innocent N. Onwumelu, Ezedioranma I.
The festival, scheduled for October 16, is expected to celebrate the community’s cultural heritage and provide an opportunity for residents and guests to come together in honour of their traditions.
