The Mayor of Njikoka Local Government Area(LGA), Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba, on July 3 led a government delegation to the country home of the late Hon. (Chief) Prince Ositadimma Victor Ezenwa (Nnanyelugo Abagana) to commiserate with his family over his passing.
The delegation included the Deputy Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Akpua, PhD, who represents Njikoka Constituency II; the Mayor-designate of Njikoka, Hon. (Dr.) Ikechukwu Okakpu (OKD); councillors, supervisory councillors, political appointees, party faithful, community leaders and senior civil servants.
Speaking during the condolence visit, Barr. Ononiba described the late Chief Ezenwa as a selfless leader, seasoned administrator and elder statesman whose contributions to the development of Njikoka LGA and Anambra State would remain unforgettable.
He noted that the late Ezenwa distinguished himself through exemplary public service, wise leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.
“Nnanyelugo Abagana was an exemplary public servant. His wisdom, leadership and fatherly guidance will be sorely missed at this time,” the mayor said.
Barr. Ononiba recalled that the deceased served meritoriously as Executive Chairman of Njikoka LGA and later as Secretary to the Anambra State Government during the administration of the late Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju. He prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and for God to grant the family the strength to bear the loss.
Other dignitaries who accompanied the delegation paid glowing tributes to the late elder statesman, describing him as a unifying figure whose legacy of service, integrity and community development would continue to inspire future generations.
The visit underscored the deep respect, solidarity and sympathy of the people and government of Njikoka LGA with the Ezenwa family during their period of mourning.
