ONITSHA NORTH MAYOR FLAGS OFF TRAINING OF FRONTLINE HEALTH WORKERS

The Chairman of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Hon Tony Nwora has called on the frontline health workers to ensure that standards are being maintained, outlined the importance of being present to attend to patients, saying that their availability can reduce health challenges.
Hon. Nwora made the call while flagging off training on integrated delivery for frontline health workers covering topics which includes; Nutrition, TB, HIV, family planning, immunization and malaria which took place at the Onitsha North Council Hall.
He urged the health workers to be serious with their works and deliver their best in their various duty post.
He said that being absent on the duty post can cause serious health issues for many patients, saying that he understands the challenges faced by frontline health workers, urging them never to relent, rather to put in their best.
The chairman assured to provide necessary healthcare infrastructures to all the healthcare centers in Onitsha North Local Government Area.
The Director of primary healthcare Onitsha North, Mrs Elizabeth Ezedinachi, called the attention of the mayor about the healthcare centers in the area which needs urgent attention.
She outlined the importance of the training which helps the frontline health workers update in their respective fields.
The supervisor for TB and Leprosy, Mrs Njideka Okpaga, thanked the mayor for his efforts to enhance healthcare centers in the area.
She informed the trainers about the upcoming world TB day and need for its sensitization.
Agbogu Chukwuma, from the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Abuja stressed on the importance of the training, explaining that he was sent to monitor it across Anambra North zone for its success.
Hon. Andrew Chike promised to give his support to the participants to ensure comfortable and good learning environment through out the training at Onitsha North Local Government Secretariat.
