Residents of Okpoko Community, Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State have passed a vote of confidence on the Mayor of Ogbaru, Sir Kenneth Akwuobi.

The commendation was accompanied with an endorsement of his aspiration to represent Ogbaru 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The endorsement was declared during a gathering at Okpoko Community Primary School 3, where community leaders, ward executives, councillors, market leaders, and APGA stakeholders pledged their support and stressed their resolve not to return to what they described as an era of poor representation.

Speaking at the event, former lawmaker Hon. Linus Ezenwamma, who chaired the occasion, described Akwuobi as a worthy son of Okpoko and urged residents to support his ambition.

In his address, Akwuobi expressed gratitude for the turnout and urged the people to verify his achievements in office while noting that his administration has focused on transforming governance in Ogbaru through key projects which included the construction of a legislative complex, a traditional rulers’ building, and a modern administrative block.

He also highlighted the renovation of offices, provision of furniture, installation of a solar-powered borehole, and other infrastructural improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency in the local government system.

The event attracted several political stakeholders and community leaders across Ogbaru LGA.
