‎The campaign train of the Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor, accompanied by his Deputy, Hon. Paul Ifeme, has moved to Nise, where they rallied All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) faithful, stakeholders and supporters in Wards 1 and 2 ahead of the Aug. 29 Local Government Election.

‎The campaign team visited the Umuazu Conference Hall, Nise, on Aug. 26, where it held a joint meeting with party members and stakeholders. The team received a warm reception from APGA leaders, councillors, flag bearers and supporters.

‎Speaking at the gathering, the Speaker of the Congress of Councillors, Hon. Joy Okonkwo, commended Prince Okafor for his people-oriented leadership and commitment to grassroots development. She cited several projects executed by the administration, including the provision of solar-powered boreholes at Ngodo Village.

‎The APGA flag bearers for Nise Wards 1 and 2, Hon. Chizoba Nwadioke and Hon. Raluchukwu Nworah, respectively, reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and pledged their commitment to its success. Also, the APGA flag bearer for Awka South II Constituency, Pharm. Boniface Onyedikachukwu Egbutu, expressed appreciation to the party for recognising Nise and entrusting him with its ticket.

‎The APGA Chairman, Awka South LGA, Hon. Lawrence Chukwuma, Esq., formally presented the party flags to the Nise Ward 1 and Ward 2 flag bearers. Addressing the gathering, Prince Chinedu Okafor thanked the people of Nise for their continued support and assured them that concerted efforts were being made to ensure that the Nise road becomes pothole-free before December.

‎The mayor also presented his administration’s scorecard, highlighting some of the key achievements recorded under his leadership. He urged APGA members to remain united, committed and focused as the party prepares for the Aug. 29 Local Government Election, which will be conducted through the affirmation system. He stressed the importance of unity among party members, urging them to close ranks and work collectively towards the success of APGA and the sustenance of its development agenda at the grassroots.

‎Other dignitaries who were present at the event include: Ozo Ogene Nise; Ozo Ejiamatu na Nise; Hon. Jane Ejiofor (Ojiefi APGA); and Hon. Joy Okonkwo, Speaker of the Congress of Councillors. The gathering ended with a strong show of solidarity, as supporters reaffirmed their commitment to APGA and its candidates ahead of the election.
