The Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN),Ogbaru Local Government Area, Comrade Uzor Onyekachukwu Micheal, on August 12, urged youths to embrace unity, productivity, responsibility and meaningful participation in community development.
Comrade Uzor, made the call in a message marking the 2026 International Youth Day, describing young people as vital stakeholders and important contributors to present and future development.
According to the him, youths possess enormous potential to transform Ogbaru through education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, innovation, leadership and active participation in community development initiatives.
The coordinator encouraged young people to choose hard work over excuses, unity over division, knowledge over ignorance and productivity over idleness, while taking responsibility for shaping their future.
He stressed that leadership goes beyond occupying political positions, explaining that genuine leadership involves service, good character, responsibility and creating positive impact in society.
The youth leader further urged Ogbaru youths to remain peaceful and politically conscious, engage constructively, demand accountability, support good initiatives and ensure their voices are heard on important issues.
He also appealed to government, traditional institutions, private organisations, philanthropists and stakeholders to invest continuously in youth empowerment, saying such investment would secure a stronger Ogbaru and Nigeria.
