Ifetike Technologies Online Class on August 12, marked International Youth Day and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Month by empowering female students with practical computer and GSM phone repair skills.
The initiative, which focuses on Technical and Vocational Education and Training, aims to equip young people with practical knowledge for self-reliance and entrepreneurship. The training exposed the female students to computer and GSM phone repairs and maintenance, encouraging them to develop skills that can create employment opportunities.

Speaking on the initiative, Ifetike Technologies emphasized that behind every building, machine, wire, vehicle and successful business is a skilled person. The organisation said the programme was designed to promote digital literacy, technical skills acquisition and innovation among young people, particularly female students.
It encouraged youths to embrace vocational education, practical knowledge and entrepreneurship as pathways toward becoming job creators rather than depending solely on white-collar employment. The initiative also formed part of activities marking International Youth Day, which provides an opportunity to highlight the contributions, potential and challenges of young people globally.
The Online Technologies Class Boss, urged youths to identify trades and courses they are passionate about pursuing, stressing that acquiring relevant skills could help them build sustainable futures. The organisation called for greater support for TVET and digital literacy programmes, while reaffirming its commitment to raising a generation of innovators, entrepreneurs and self-reliant young people.
