The Mayor of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Hon. Kenneth Akwuobi, has inspected the ongoing environmental sanitation exercise across parts of the council, monitoring the desilting of gutters, culverts, and evacuation of refuse.
The exercise, held on July 4, covered East Niger, Nkutaku, Iyiowa Odekpe and Okpoko, where varying levels of compliance by residents were observed.

During the inspection, the Mayor commended residents for their cooperation, describing their participation as commendable, and urged continued support for the sanitation policies of the Anambra State Government under the “Solution Government” agenda.
He reiterated that the sanitation exercise would be sustained to ensure cleaner, safer and more habitable communities, stressing that environmental cleanliness remains a collective responsibility that requires continuous public engagement.

Addressing concerns over the Sakamori Gutter, Hon. Akwuobi disclosed that government would take necessary steps to address the challenge, while warning residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse into drainage channels and urging strict adherence to environmental regulations.
